REASONS to be a PART of ISCEP
  1. PROFESSIONAL ADVANCEMENT
    1. The CEP desingnation (Community Engagement Professional) and the CODE OF ETHICS - These two areas are core to any and all professions. Achieving the CEP designation and exhibiting the highest ethical standards are benchmarks of success in our field. Individuals who have achieved certifications of this type are recognized by their employers, colleagues and volunteers as people who perform at the highest levels.

  2. LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES and RESOURCES
    1. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT - The 2010 conferences are being planned now. The emphasis will be on practitioners who can give you information you can put to use immediately. Watch for the schedule in February of 2010.
    2. BODY OF KNOWLEDGE - As a relatively new field serving varied community sectors, materials on community engagement can be somewhat difficult to come by. ISCEP will be a clearinghouse for the information you need. Whether it be "How To's" or theory, your society will direct you where you need to go. Where material does not exist, we will commission our own studies and reports in order to meet your needs.

  3. RECOGNITION for YOUR EFFORTS and the EFFORTS of YOUR COLLEAGUES and YOUR ORGANIZATION
    1. Through Society programs you can nominate your colleagues and volunteers for recognition of their work within your community on behalf of your organization. You can compete for awards specific to the community engagement arena.

  4. LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES while ADVANCING the COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT MOVEMENT and YOUR PROFESSION
    1. ISCEP is a dynamic and growing organization. Committee and advisory council volunteer opportunities are continuously available. Initial steps are underway to establish state and local chapters. Share your expertise while helping the Society and promoting your own organizations.
