The mission of the International Society of Community Engagement Professionals is to build value and understanding for community engagement while providing leadership in the Community Engagement movement and excellence within the profession.

ISCEP’s primary objectives are to advance the standards of the Community Engagement profession and to provide members with professional development opportunities.

ISCEP builds the profession and the professional in four core areas:

1. Advancing the Movement
   ISCEP is the standard bearer for the Community Engagement movement and as such will work to provide benchmarks for organizations and individuals involved in this arena while promoting the movement and the activities of its members and their organizations.
2. Advancing the Profession
   As the preeminent organization in the field of Community Engagement, ISCEP will provide and enhance Professional Development opportunities for its members and their organizations.
3. Advancing Partnerships
   Recognizing that there are many individuals and organizations involved in growing communities, ISCEP will promote partnering by members and their organizations as one of the best vehicles for success.
4. Advancing the Society
   ISCEP will constantly seek new strategies to enrich services to its members and their organizations through cohesion among its own professionals, its members and national, state, provencial and local chapters.
